On Friday October 5th, the Long Island Lizards made their first trade of the off season by acquiring Midfielder Collin Briggs from the Denver Outlaws in exchange for Zack Greer. The Lizards also acquired a draft pick in the 2013 supplemental draft. Briggs played in ten games (including both playoff games) in his rookie season and tallied two goals and four assist. In his senior season at the University of Virginia, Briggs finished with 34 points, which was good enough for third on the team behind Steele Stanwick and Chris Bocklett.
Lizards head coach Joe Spallina on the trade, “We are excited about acquiring Briggs. A first rounder last year, who got valuable experience in his first season in the league will help to add to our young core.”
