The Long Island Lizards will host a lacrosse clinic to benefit Hurricane Sandy Long Island Disaster Relief on Saturday, November 24, at 10 a.m. at Maud Sherwood Elementary School for all children in grades K-12.
Registration is $35 and all proceeds will benefit the Hurricane Sandy Long Island Disaster Relief Fund. In the spirit of the holidays, Islip School District also asks that all participants bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to a local food bank.
"Being based in Long Island, the Lizards organization has seen firsthand the devastation caused by Sandy. Many of our own players, staff, and families have been forced out of their homes and have had to rely on the kindness of their friends and families,” said Lizards CEO Jeffery Rudnick. “By putting on this clinic on Saturday, November 24, the Lizards are hoping to help raise funds for those who may not have the support they need to help keep themselves and their family fed and safe from the oncoming winter season. The clinic will also help the kids feel that, even with all the devastation around them, they can still have fun and be a kid for at least a couple of hours.”
Sign-in will begin at 9 a.m., with the clinic taking place from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. The clinic will be held on the field at Maud Sherwood Elementary, located at 301 Smith Ave, Islip, NY. All participants must be in full equipment. The clinic will be held outside, so please dress accordingly. Students interested in attending can register by clicking here.
